MOISTURIZE

MOISTURIZE WITH OIL:  Healthy, normal skin, produces lipid cells that trigger the skin’s natural ability to protect itself from moisture loss, communicating to our sebaceous glands to produce more oil, or sebum. Due to many internal & external factors, the lipid barrier is often disrupted and the skin is unable to coat its’ surface with the appropriate amount of sebum, causing a loss of hydration.  A moisturizer’s primary responsibility is to aid in correcting the lipid barrier by forming a protective seal on the skin’s surface to reduce the evaporation of existing moisture. Depending on your skin, you may opt to use a lightweight formula during the day to help the skin retain moisture and a concentrated serum at night that will penetrate deeper into the skin to deliver additional nutrients.

EXFOLIATE

EXFOLIATE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK:  Regularly remove dead skin cells from the epidermis, leaving room for living skin cells to move up from the dermis (the layer underneath) to leave skin looking brighter & smoother. Consider an exfoliating sponge, a manual scrub or an exfoliating tool for frequent exfoliation. Consider an at-home facial once a month – all you need is 12 minutes and a mask.
